DBW Idle Setup

Have an M800 and am running the LS2 throttle body and corvette pedal assembly. The unit calibrates and functions correctly. I have only specified a response curve with respect to TPD and avoided the other axis since I am not clear on its application, i.e. I am just happy to have a curve that I can adjust instead of machining a cam.

However, I just realized that I haven't a clue as how to set/adjust the idle. Is there way in the s/w to set a minimum angle ? Is it as easy as setting the curve to a nonzero value for zero TPD ?

Enable DBW Idle on AUX2 (function 6) then enter the PID values needed to give you the idle control desired in Functions>Idle Control>Setup.

I found compared to an ICS or Valve the settings needed to be tiny as they're operating on the throttle body.

I also run a timer on the normal position table to give a fast idle for 20Ms to clear it's throat after a hot start.

You can start by leaving the PID values at 0 and setting values in the Normal Position Table (Adjust/Functions/Idle Control/Normal Position) that give you your desired idle speed as a function of engine temperature. If this is a race engine this may be all you need but once you have the Normal Position table set up you can introduce the PID parameters for a closed loop control. Have a read through the Help files in each part of the idle control menu (F1) as this will give you a good indication of what each parameter does.
