Hi,
I have a M800 (V3.52F) and an ADL (320U2) 4MB Prolog 50 I/0 etc, and i have the following questions:
1) Can i only use the ADL to see all the ECU Channels (RPM,Lambda,Gear,MAP,Throtle etc) and which configuration to do this?
2) When i connect the ADL to the M800 I need to disconnect the 2 devices to communicate with the M800 or the ADL; what can i do to switch between the M800 and the ADL?
I not good enought at the moment to use the ADL's features:-)
All infos are welcome.
Francois

You can use the ADL to see ECU channels, there is a data set for "M800 Set 1" and "M800 Set 1 Alternate" in your CAN Setup menu. These data sets are for Version 2 M800 though so there are some channels which will not work so you are probably better off using a custom data set. You can do this by creating a custom data set in ECU Manager containing all of the channels you want. Once you have completed the list you can export it to ADL Manager and select it in the CAN Setup Menu in Dash Manager.

If you want to connect to both ECU and ADL at the same time you would need to have 2 connections. This would mean that you would need 2 UTCs or a UTC and a CAN Cable.

Thank you for the quick answer,
i try this and give you feedback.I hope i can make this
without difficult ;-) !!
PS: Do i need to disconnect the CAN betweenn ADL an M800 to work
with both UTC and Parallel ? Can i have priority on M800 ? And what about
a separate power supply only for ADL? It's a good idea or not?

Hi,
Generally you will have the ADL and M800 on the same CAN wires with only one communications port. There is no need to unplug anything to talk to each unit with a slight "BUT". The M800 software on the laptop, when open, will always take charge of the CAN communications from the laptop, meaning if the M800 software is open you can talk to the M800 without problem and the M800 will also keep talking to the ADL. If you want to talk to the ADL from the laptop you must turn off the M800 software. You do not need to turn the power off to either unit, also you only need power to the unit you want to talk to if they are on different power supply switches.

Just one note for the CAN cable, it needs 8v to make it work so the unit supplying the 8v must be on for it to work. The UTC does not need 8v to work.

Hi,
I create the custom data with the channels = OK
Removed all the channels from ADL = Heavy work, but OK
Select Custom Data = Easy, but nothing to see on the display when the engine run....
What's wrong?
(The Dash Manager is difficult ,it's the first time for me,i can learning a lot ;-)
Thank you
Francois

First of all you need to check that the channels are actually being transmitted to the ADL. Do this by using the Monitor Channels function in the ADL. YOu should be able to see all of your ECU channels and the corresponding channel values. If you cannot see the values you either have a problem with your CAN setup or the CAN wiring. If you are able to see the values but can not see them on the display you need to check your Display Setup and make sure that you have the display configured to display the channels you want to see. Make sure that you check all 3 pages of the display (Warm Up, Practise & Race) as ii is possible to have one page configured correctly and another page blank.
