Lately, i did got wierd offers from my respectable client to put MoTeC ECU on their vehicles. One fo them is BMW M3 E36. Only mechanical change for now is removal of VANOS and puting proper cams. M600 will be mounted. Anyone have any expirience with this BMW?

If anyone needfor BMW M3 E30, good old one, anything, just say it. I am fresh from that adventure. ;)

BTW. it is all road cars that gentlemans use sometimes to make few laps on the F1 track in Shanghai.

Thanks for any reply or tips!

Cheers Pascal

We've done a number of E36 and E46 BMWs with M800's. Which motor is in the E36? Tell us more about the scene in Shanghi. I've always been intrigued with what's going on there....

SHANGHAI! Wierd place really. Multimillion city with some of most spectaculary view's in the world. Pearl tower, highest ever building in the world that you actually never see cause is all the time inside of big cloud of polution. Economy is crazy. Other that is GDP based 92 % on foreign investments, which means if all foreigners leave China, Chinese will be hungry as hell! On the end we all know well that is almost everything "made in China" except good old MoTeC off course! ;) Automotive numbers are fer bigger then USA and Europe togheter. As we all well know, USA is not anymore number one automarket in the world. It is China! Only in Shanghai was been sold out last week over 1700 new vehicles! Record of one day in Shanghai was been 297 new registered vehicles!!! As for real cars, there is more Ferarri's then in Italy or Porsche then in Germany! :D Here is 2 Veyrons, few of Enzo's, one is my client, and buncha of 430. As for Porsche in Shanghai it is even hard to follow numbers. I have 7 client with Porsch and 2 with GT2! 2 weeks a go they burn it brand new GT on F1 track! Was been sad to see that super car burn to the chassis cause inefficent fire brigade of track. Did take the 27 minutes to arrive to car car on the track! No insurance of course cause is very very hard to get any fair insurance on normal price. Normally if you want real insurance then you must pay almost another car. I was been hit on the back and insurance did pay only for rear bumper! They say that rest was been already like this!!!! And no argue! it is goverment organization and they are ALWAYS right! As for racing world in China, there is 6 races in circuit calendar for China Circuit Championship and 4 in China Rally Championship, so i dare you to not finish one race on the rally and still to try to win Rally Championship!

If anyone interested about any detailed part of China or some city's let me know! Will try to answer in my best possibility!

Regards Pascal

I may be going to Macau this year; maybe we'll come out for a visit. My sister spent a year studying at Tsinghua University in Bejing and every since I've wanted to come see it for myself.

Are many people building custom project cars/race cars there? Does most everything come through Hong Kong or Singapore? How is the motorcycle market there?

Dear Neel,

NOONE build NOTHING here. This is China, meka of copy!! Even rocket was been buildt by european and USA guys.
Only trough Hong Kong coming all stuff in and out. 99.9 % is only Hong Kong. Easy corupted cops make things hapened easy way! Motorcyle market does not exist here. (If we are talking about REAL motorcycles, liek 1000's and 600's) You are not even allowed to drive it in Shanghai! I cant buy registration and licence plates for my bike cause is by the law not allowed! So everyone have fake plates'n'stuff.

Hey Pascal,

What E30 M3 gear have you got?

I run an ex Group A racer that my mate owns and we are always on the look out for bits.

Thanks

Cristian
