Injector setup on a M800

I have the following.


4 primary 1600cc PTE Low Impedance injectors (Not sure who the manufacturer is but the specs are below)

043-1600 1600cc Low 2Ω 1.300 1.000 Pintel N/L

4 Secondary 2200CC Siemens Low Impedance Injectors

Coil Resistance: 2.27 Ohms / Low Impedance / Low-Z (ECM peak & hold driver or modifications required)
Static Flow Rate @ 43.5PSI ( 300kPa ) w/Gas: 220 lb/hr = 2433 cc/min
Offset: 0.64ms
Turn on time: 1.5ms
Turn off time: 1.3ms
Connector: Bosch EV1
Series: DEKA 4 ( DEKA IV )
Orifice Type: Single Orifice
Spray Pattern: 10-15 Degree Pencil Cone
Factory fitted with Viton upper and lower o-rings


Currently, I have no idea how to setup injector sizing on the Motec. I would like that to be accurate before I adjust any fuel tables. I have gotten the car started, but I think it was luck. Car runs very nice on the motec too.

I would like to sort out before I continue.

Hi,

The setup is fairly straight forward.
Main setup is as per normal, i'm assuming a 4 cylinder engine?
To turn on hi/lo injection you just need to set the Secondary Injection Ratio in the General Setup|Fuel sub menu. The ratio you enter is the secondary (high) : primary (low) flow volume. In your case 2200:1600 = 1.375:1, so you would enter 1.375 as the ratio.

Both injectors being around 2 ohms you would set the injector current to 2.5A.
The primary/secondary balance on/off parameters are there to avoid very small injector pulse widths when requesting small percentages of either the primary or secondary injectors. Given your injectors are all fairly large i would suggest these figures -
Primary balance on - 20%
Primary balance off - 15%
Secondary balance on - 75%
Secondary balance off - 80%

In the Fuel|Secondary Injection menu you will find the Secondary Balance Table. This table describes the ratio for the volume of fuel to deliver out each injector to make the total amount of fuel for the firing event. 100% means all fuel is supplied from the primary injectors. 0% means all fuel is delivered from the secondary injectors. 50% being equal volumes of fuel out both primary and secondary injectors. If the injector settings are all set perfectly, you should be able to adjust this table without upsetting the tune too much.

Read through the help files in ECU manager for all the parameters, and if you have any further questions, just ask.

Thanks Darren, The help menus are awesome. I did use them alot and therefore got a lot done. But certain things need a little more detail.

I have an M880. What is "High Low injection" within the advanced functions?

Hi/Lo injection is what was just explained with primary and secondary injectors being used to give a variance between the 2 sets of injectors as setup in the parameters. My question would be what is the benefit/use of the multi-pulse/multi-spark upgrade?
