Evo 9 GSR Gear Ratio Setup

Postby jasonthai on Tue Jul 29, 2008 2:35 pm

Hi

I have a M800 OEM (version 89 adaptor with 3 connectors) for an Evo 9.

Does anyone know the correct Gear Ratio parameter set up for an Evo 9 GSR 6 Speed Manual Transmission?

I set up the gear ratios according to the factory brochure. I am using Digital Input for speed and using the tailshaft for calculation of the gears but it seems to miscalculate the gears. e.g 5th gear is shown as 6th,etc.

Any input would be really appreciated.

Thanks
Jason

Managed to work out the problem by changing the ratios for gear 4,5,6.

FWIW, I am now using the following ratios:-

1 - 2.90
2 - 1.94
3 - 1.43
4 - 1.00
5 - 0.80
6 - 0.60

Hi aalzuhair

I am using 1.0 as the value. Sorry for the slow reply. Was out of town and didn't have my Motec program with me.

Regards

The Diff Gear Ratio is for when you are using a driven wheel speed sensor (one actually on the wheel) to work out which gear you are in. The calculated gear detection feature is a division of speed and engine RPM, if you measure gearbox output speed (as on the EVO) then you do not have the diff ration affecting the calculation, if you measured speed at the wheel this is obviously after the diff has done its RPM reduction so you need to take it into account.
