Logging decisions

So I have an M800 maxed out with sensors and an SDL just as a display, question is would it be best to lay down the extra cash for a logging upgrade on the SDL and start using it to log data so I can add more sensors or buy an ignition expander for the M800 to be able to log on the ecu ? I would like to add a 3 axis G-sensor to my setup so would it best to just use the inbuilt SDL one for that ?

I would get the logging upgrade for the SDL. With the M800 you are limited to logging 64 channels, it is easy to use this up if you have a lot of inputs going to the ECU. If you already have logging in the M800 you could set this up to log all of the errors and voltages etc that you might not want to look at all of the time but would be useful to have if you have to diagnose a problem if something goes wrong with the car.

Thanks, some good points there. So if I got logging on the SDL it would automatically make sense to be able to log the G-sensor built into the dash at no extra cost right ?

Remeber the SDL has only a 2 axis Gsensor and not a 3axis...

Vertical and Lateral ( IF you have fitter the SDL the NOrmal way)

Your right, forgot that. At least its cheaper than buying a 3 axis separate one straight up to just do some basic logging !
