Hi,

I get error C-5 on my Lambda, can someone have a look at my calibration to see what doing this?
The engine is just started so the calibration is very simple.

The engine have run for ~15min, ET over 75 degrees c, the lambda sensor do get hot.

At first I get La1 Error C-6 and after a little while it turns over to C-5, I guess this happens when the sensor is warmed up.

It's a NTK sensor (type 2 in the setup), connected directly yo my M880, no through a PLM.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Calibration looks fine for the lambda to me.

Do you have lambda enabled on your ECU?

Otherwise I would check wiring.

Yeah, I've got 1MB Logging and Single Lambda enabled.

So it's the wiring you think, crap... that's the last thing I wan't to mess around with now..

Under Lambda Control, Rate and Step are not set.
Please use default values to start with.

Calibaration number is quite high. Did you do free air cal? Was it a Motec supplied sensor?
Be very careful if it is not Motec supplied. I have seen some which were 0.05 off.

It came from a MoTeC dealer and the calibration was written on the sensor so no open air calibration have been done.

I tested all pins with a voltmeter and got the following readings with the ecu on but engine off:
~12v (battery +)
~0.03v (aux1)
~1.5v
~4.9v
~0v (sign gnd)

How does that sound?

The wiring down at the sensor is correct, if there is any wiring issue it's in the bulkhead connector so some pins are mixed up, only thing I can think of right now..

The C5 error is given when the ECU cannot make sense of the infromation coming from the sensor and can be caused by incorrect set up, bad wiring or a dead sensor. Your calibration is right and if it is a new sensor I would assume it is the wiring. Use a multi meter to first check that the wires are going to the right place, the NTK sensors we sell have had the wire colours changed lately so this may cause some confusion. I have added a drawing with the new colours.

Once you are happy that you have checked the wires from the ECU all the way to the sensor are going to the right place make sure there is not too much resistance in each wire, there should be less than 0.5 ohms depending on length (usually about 0.2 ohms is normal).

You cannot do an air calibration until the sensor is working properly.
