Fuel Used [M400]

Hello,

Is there a way to evaluate fuel consumption using injectors data, Inj Pulse, Fuel Pressure, Manifold pressure and Rpm?
Competitors has internal parameter called Ecu.FuelUsed : does something similar exist with M400 Ecu?

Thank you.

The M400 ECU generates a Fuel Used channel that can be logged and is transmitted on the CAN bus in all three data sets. This get's calibrated using Adjust->General Setup->Fuel->Setup->Fuel Used Cal. See the F1 help for info on this.

Thanks David :ugeek:

Last question : where do you specify if Fuel pressure is constant or linked to pressure manifold?
It will impact real injector flow.
In other word, what are the inputs to check in order to ensure good accuracy?

Since the Mx00 ECUs are a pulse-time based model, for accurate Fuel Used it is assuming manifold referenced fuel pressure. If your fuel pressure is not manifold referenced, then you can setup a fuel compensation (Adjust->Fuel->Compensations->Fuel Pres Comp), that will basically increase the pulse width as though there were a constant differential pressure. I image this would probably keep the Fuel Used value closer to correct. if you don't have Fuel Pres Comp calibrated -- then any flow error are baked into your fuel table -- you'll have to see if the Fuel Used calculation is still accurate.

If this is really important to you, then consider upgrading to an M1 ECU. The fuel injectors are fully modeled, and fuel used is calculated to the micro-liter values.
