M600 ECU Power cycling every 2s roughly

Postby MaccaMcc on Tue Mar 26, 2024 4:49 pm

Hey guys,

I've had an M600 in my car (Supra) for somewhere around 15 years. I drove it down to my tuner to get some more boost and transient throttle adjustments and it started having dramas.

The tuner moved it in and out of the storage yesterday. Today when we fired it up the engine kept cutting out after about 2 seconds. He hooked the UTC/CAN up to a laptop and found the ECU to be resetting roughly every 2 seconds causing the engine to stutter everytime it power cycles.

He tried running power directly from battery to the ecu, reconnected the stock ECU (motec is setup piggybacking off stock) and while the engine ran fine the M600 continued to reset.

We tried updating the firmware on the UTC adaptor, then sending the tune to the ecu again but it didnt make any difference.

Has anyone experienced something like this happening randomly? Any suggestions/solutions?

Cheers,
Dave
