Cold start adjustments

Got a pretty strong gen 5 3SGE in one of my cars and it takes a fair bit of cranking to get it firing. It doesn't have any idle control devices so I have to work the throttle by foot.
It'll just keep winding over without any coughs, but if I give the throttle a small pump it seems to briefly fire as the throttle is reduced. Eventually it somehow all comes together and it starts.

Any suggestions on where to start with that please?

Assuming there are no errors getting to cycle lock / synced, I would check/tune the fuel table in the cranking area, and get the Cranking Compensation table correct (those two interact when cranking). Usually it's not enough fuel if it doesn't even cough. But it could be too much, since adding air (opening the throttle) seems to help.

There could be many other causes, for example a low battery voltage while cranking with the throttle closed, and insufficient coil charge time at low voltages.

The car got the final power tune yesterday and the chap doing it also fixed the cold start. He ended up taking about 25% out one of the trims and that seemed to work well.

Managed to just crack 200 hp at the wheels!
