Sync Cam position measurement

Postby Martin on Tue May 05, 2009 6:30 am

Will the Mx00 measure cam position from the sync signal if mode 7 is used? Single tooth on camshaft.
Or will you need to double the SYNC signal to a DIG input to have its position measured?

Thanks

Hi Martin,
The ability to do cam measurements from the "Sync Cam Position" is something that is written into the ref/sync mode. For mode 7 you will need to loop the sync signal into a digital input as well.

Even some of the newer variable cam modes still need this to be done, there are a few different ways the software needs to be written to make them work so not all can easily use the "Sync Cam Position".
