M84 to M400 Issues

Postby trucker on Wed May 18, 2022 12:22 pm

I switched from a M84 to a M400 with a custom wiring harness on my 2003 suzuki hayabusa. Before the switch the bike ran fine. Since the switch the bike starts and runs fine but wont rev past 6000 rpm with the clutch in or out. At 6000 the bike shuts off and I have to cycle the on off switch to reset the fuel pump before it will start again. Also neither the anti lag or dual rpm limiter work either. Before the switch they worked fine. Any ideas on where too look? Thanks and have a great day.

There are many possibilities that could have caused this:

- The M400 has 4 aux outputs, compared to the M84 having 8. Something might no longer be getting activated
- Anti lag might not function if the M400 doesn't have advanced functions.

There is also no easy way to convert an M84 file over to an M400 file, so there are many possible settings that have not been set correctly.

Without logging, or a config there is no way to assist on this.

I have had a bit of a look through your config. There are a couple of possibilities here:

1. Dual RPM limit. You have it assigned on one of the dig inputs, and the low rpm limit is set to 6600rpm, with your engine speed limit having a 500rpm control range, this would fit your 6k rpm limit. If this is activating, this may be your engine speed limit, which I would recommend double checking.

2. Aux table 2. This has 100% duty from 5500rpm above 40% throttle, depending on what this is actually controlling, this may be an issue.

3. ORB. You have some pretty high cut numbers in the table which could be acting as an engine speed limit. I would keep an eye or your ORB state.
