Hi there

Would like to find out if the Motec M800 can be used on the above-mentioned vehicle, chassis code GRB.
The vehicle runs DBW and AVCS and has a control knob in the central console which is used as a map selector from factory to determine the vehicle responses.
Can the Motec integrate fully with the above-mentioned, with DBW and AVCS both active and map selection done from the factory knob?
Could you please provide the ECU-pinouts so that I can start working on the necessary PNP harness?

Thanks!

Cheers
Dennis

Hi

I just found in the Motec website that the M800 plug-in for the 2008 STi disables some factory electronics.
Can I please find out what factory electronics will be disabled and if there are any ways of working around that.

Thanks!

Cheers
Dennis

Hi there...anyone from MOTEC please?

The M800 I have in hand is enabled for both DBW and Cam Control so it should be able to run the 2008 EDM Subaru STi, but I am concerned about the lack of information regarding the functionality that will be missing once the factory ECU is removed.

Please help!

Cheers
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

With the 2008 Subaru STi Plug n Play ECU the functions that will no longer work in the car include the ABS, Stability Control, the map selector and the cold start inlet valves are in the full open position constantly.

Hi Omar

I am not intending to use the M800 PnP, as I already have a M800 gold box pulled from my previous install in a 07 STi.
So basically, the M800 is not capable of running the 08 STi as a road car. Am I correct? Or is it possible to install the M800 in a piggy-back format to ensure that that as much of the functionality of the standard ECU is retained as possible?

Thanks!

Cheers
Dennis

Hello Dennis,
It is not an easy question to answer, I do not think Piggy-Backing a gold box onto the car would be that easy and might end up with the same results as the PnP board. Please remember that the main focus of the PnP boards is for Group N rallying and not strictly road cars. I do not think anyone has tried piggy-backing onto one of these cars yet and it is not something we really have any plans to try here.
