Hi Guys,

have a problem with my honda k24 with a m800 ecu.
I often have cold starting problems. During the cranking, the rpm fluctuate between 140 and 320 and then suddenly I briefly comes to 800 rpm and fall out of the cranking table and the start does not work.

here is a short video clip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URB7I8IF0ww

What have i tried so far?

INJ timing higher value
Higher dwell settings
-20 to +15 ignition while cranking
more cranking fuel
less cranking fuel
more TP% while cranking
less TP% while cranking

more first injection
less first injection.

In most cases i have the errors error sync signal and No sync error signal during startup. but i don't think it has anything to do with the failed start. If i have a great hot start, i have the error too and after reset errors it comes never back.

a friend has the same problem with his k20 and motec m800.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be?

The video shows you have a Error with the Sync sensor. I would do a REF/Sync capture with the spark plugs removed and the injectors not connected. then set the REF/ parameters.

Hi Sprinter,

thanks for the answer.
i have attached another logfile. In this logfile is another fail start.
At the end of the log file I have a working start as well.
You can see i am ref / sync syncronised under a second and the same errors came repeatedly.

On my working K20 setups, I have both Ref and Sync Sensor Edge Polarity set to 1 (Rising Edge)

Also, the Ref and Sync Filter tables both have 124 for 0 & 500 RPM
