fresh air anti lag on M400

Discussion and support for MoTeC's previous generation ECUs.

ALS FRESH AIR

Good morning,
these days we are testing our car with the anti lag fresh air system ..
however we cannot find the right set up ... have you already had a similar experience? we have an M400.
the problem we encounter seems to be the lack of combustion in the manifolds and therefore the turbine drops in rpm.

Postby MyRaw on Wed Oct 13, 2021 4:56 am

Good morning,
i am trying to set fresh air anti lag strategy on my m400.
Unfortunately I can't get good results ..
has anyone tried it yet?
Thanks

Hi,

If you can post the configuration that you are currently using in the vehicle, it will assist in getting a response. Logging of the anti lag in operation will also assist.

As Stephen has said it is impossible to give constructive assistance without information on hand.

There are a few items to be mindful of in the fresh air anti lag systems:
- You still need enough throttle opening to introduce enough air to carry the fuel through the motor so you have something to combust.
- You generally need a decent amount of fuel enrich. the fresh air anti lag introduces a lot of air, so you need sufficient fuelling.
- I would strongly recommend an exhaust temp sensor in the system for overtemp shut off and to give you an indication of how effective the system is operating.

I am attaching a current photo.
4 cylinder engine
turbo Borg warner efr 7163
valve for als turbosmart avl 40 with 20mm inlet air passage.
With the classic anti lag I kept the throttle 25 ° open .. with this system I will have to keep it open? or can the opening be reduced?
Als strategy:
-40 ° ignition delay
ignition cut-off 40%
fuel enrichment 30%.
I tried to move from these values but to no avail.
I have a pressure sensor before and after the throttle.
I have an exhaust gas temperature sensor.
I have the turbo rpm sensor.
If you tell me specifically the data you need, I'll give them to you.
for now thanks for the advice
