GSXR 1000 2005 ref sync capture

Greetings MoTeC folks, would any of you have a ref sync capture with the stock crank and cam sensors you could share with me? I'm trying to sort out some problems, also would help to know if the cam sensor is rising or falling edge. Thanks in advance, Sean.

HI Sean,

Not the best capture, but this is how I wired a K6 many years ago, and from memory the K5 was the same trigger

Glen, that's excellent, just what I needed. Shows we need to find (lots) more cranking speed :shock:
Maybe 24 volts up the starter will liven it up :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hi Sean,

Rising edge for both traces, and you definitely need more cranking speed as some of the gaps between the single teeth open up enough that they could be counted as a missed tooth.

It also looks like you need to use one of the Gap Based Sync modes with this engine.

68 : Two missing teeth twice per cycle Gap based Sync
Requires active Sync edge to land within missing tooth window and
remain there. Not suitable for active camshaft engines.
69 : One missing tooth twice per cycle Gap based Sync
Requires active Sync edge to land within missing tooth window and
remain there. Not suitable for active camshaft engines.

Sean, that capture was a pretty powerful GSX-R under ASBK rules, and it always cranked well, and have not seen a Suzuki crank that slow. I would have a look at the starter or cables, something seems off there.
