Toyota 1UR-FE Error Sync Signal

Hi guys,

I'm working on MoTeC m800 fit into Toyota 1UR-FE 4.6L engine in test bench.

I'm facing problem that doesn't running engine with "Error Sync Signal" when cranking, and I did ref/sync capture (refer attach).
Ref/Sync sensor setup are below,
Ref/Sync Mode: 43
Crank Ref Teeth: 36
Tooth Ratio: 50
Crank Index Position: 125.0
REF Sensor Type: 1
REF Sensor Edge Polarity: 0
REF Trigger Voltage: 0.0
SYNC Sensor Type: 1
SYNC Sensor Edge Polarity: 0
SYNC Trigger Voltage: 0.0

The same type engine previously ran without problem under the same setup value.

I'm concerned 0 voltage offset...of course confirmed sensor ground for the sensors goes to the pin B16, and ECU ground pin A10 and A11 are connected engine block.

Anything else I'm missing?

Thank you in advance.
Yuji

Hi Yuji,

On a Hall Effect sensor the 0v offset is not as critical, as the trigger point for a Hall effect sensor is 2V with a 0.5V Hysteresis value.

When you are cranking the engine, are you also resetting the errors? if you are connected to the ECU with the laptop the errors are not automatically reset, and you will get some errors that occur on cranking whilst the engine is syncing, but that clear once the engine is running.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for your reply.
I understood 0 voltage offset is not critical in this case.

Yes I'm resetting errors during cranking, and this error occurs during cranking or after cranking.

Best regards,
Yuji
