4 bar map issues

Postby Lsi on Fri Oct 09, 2020 3:25 am

Hi guys, having this code on a SC k24 , scalled the 4 bar map and as soon as it sees a bit more load it throws "manifold pressure error". Engine seems to run fine , also compared the reading with a zeitronix zt2 with a 5 bar map and numbers match . Cant seem to find a way to log sensor voltage on the software. What could throw such code? Also in struggles a bit to start on cold and it stays pig rich for around a minute or so, but that migh be sync issue and corrections, anyways heres my basemap if you guys cold take a look. Thanks.

With it running you are actually seeing over 4 bar? Do you have logging from the ecu? You could up the log rate on the map to 20 or 50 Hz and then provoke the problem.

In the sensor custom table you have the highest table value at 4.89 volts and the diagnostic high at 4.90 volts. The low end of the table is also .01 volts off the diagnostic low. I'd maybe try diag lo at 0 and diag hi at 5.0 and see what happens.

Hi Sean, thanks for the reply, i actually lowered the value on low diag and the problem went away, it was happening when I was letting of the throttle. Now just need to sort the two separate issues. Thanks.

It's possible the rich cold idle was the map value defaulting to 100 when in error. If it's actually running/idling at (picking a number out of the air) 80kPa and the sensor channel has defaulted to 100 because it's in error, you'll be 20% rich based on the Adjust>Fuel>Compensations>MAP Comp table.

That wasnt the case actually, even with the oem map I had previsously on it would do the same, funny thing i played with pretty much everything I can think of and it still strugles to start specially in cold temp and the richness for the first minute or so. Well i guess I am missing something and need to keep digging in. :?

I don't know where you are in the world, so cold start is hard to define  Where I live 5 degrees C is really cold.

Same here Sean   Portugal. Even struggles to start with 25 degrees. After coolant gets warm the it starts fine. Looked at the corrections tho and thats not it.... :(

Are you 100% sure it's rich when it's struggling to cold start? Black smoke, lambda sensor reporting rich etc?
The reason I ask is that the one thing in your file that did stand out was the fuel engine temp compensation table has very little fuel enrichment when the engine is cold compared to anything I've seen. Picture is an example from a 2 litre turbo application.
