CAN based Digital Input functions

Hi,

On the MXXX series I can see that you can configure the SW In 1-6 functions to use a CAN based input rather than the associated AT physical input.

If using the CAN based function, does this free up the underlying AT input to be used once again as a regular AT input?

EG, if I have a switch hooked up to one of the analogue inputs on a E816 or DBW4, can I use this switch to provide the logic for setting SW In 1 to Ground Speed Limit active, and still use the associated AT1 as say gearbox oil temp on a User channel?

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

That is correct, if you use an external device, such as a Dash, PDM or E8xx with the M1, you can setup the M1 to receive these inputs over CAN, and thus free up the on board M1 inputs.

I have attached a copy of the M1 CAN Inputs document that I am working on, it doesn't have an E8xx specific section yet (that is the next part that I am doing) but, you should be able to get this working using the Dash receive settings.

I didn't even notice that this was in the Mx00 forum.

I'll look into it for you.
