M600 ref problem

Hi,im currently in the process of swapping the ecu in my Torana to a M600. The motor is an RB30 and I'm using an aftermarket crank trigger setup that uses a 12 tooth 1 missing wheel with a hall sensor. Im also using the home signal that comes with the kit, its made for a twin cam RB but I have fabricated a braket to suit the single cam. It all seemed to be working fine,i did a couple of ref/sync captures

Image

Then while I was cranking the motor trying to check the crip I noticed the rpm on the screen drop to zero, up until this point it was sitting consistently on 190rpm while the engine was cranking. So I did another capture and both the ref and sync just showed a straight line at 6 volts on the capture. I swapped both the hall sensors out for brand new unused spares I have, now I'm getting a sync signal but still no ref

Image

ive checked the power and earth wires on the ref and sync wires and they seem ok,have 8 volts at the plug.im not sure how to test the signal wire. So I don't really know where to go from here.

here is a couple of pics of the triggers and how I have it set in the ecu also, any help from here would be greatly appreciated

How wide is the crank trigger wheel? Is it centered on the sensor nose?

That style trigger wheel is intended for interrupt style sensors that are sensing along the crankshaft axis, such as a Mitsu EVO.

The wheel is 4mm thick, the sensor is slightly to one side. I tested the sensor out of the bracket last night and it switches to 0v when I pass a spanner over it. So I'm confident the wiring side of things is right now, just need to have a closer look at the position of the sensor on the wheel

So I now have both signals again and get a good capture. while I am cranking the engine I still get a Error Sync Signal and Ref/Sync not synced error. Ive watched the webinars and think I have it set right but theres obviously something I have missed

If both sensors are genuine Honeywell sensors then I'd put falling edge as significant edge. Seems that there is rising edge at crank.

Also a fast play with Tooth ratio might help to get rid of errors.

What is air gap of crank sensor?

There both genuine Honeywell sensors so I will try that and see how I go. There is slightly less then 2mm gap between the sensor and the teeth on the crank now

Still no luck, i messed around with the tooth ratio and sensor polarity. Still getting the "error sync signal"

What does the capture look like now? Also, when you first tried did it sync, you didn't say?

No I haven't managed to get it to sync at all yet since installing the ecu .This is the latest capture
