Duty Cycle as Ignition Switch Input

Postby Mazi on Sat Dec 20, 2008 11:39 pm

I would like to use Porsche air bag & rollover signal like "ignition switch function" on digital input. Signal is 80% duty if status is normal and 20% duty if crash status is present (some models has opposite duty). Frequency is 10Hz
Any idea how to do that?

While I have not done what you ask . . .

Is the signal supplying positive voltage or ground? Hopefully ground. If so, couldn't you use an RC filter on the signal and feed it into the AT pin?

Do you think about low pass filter? At 10Hz?
If there is no way to read direct duty, I will put an small PIC uP between signal and motec input to do the job.
Thanks Eric

Yep, a low pass would be what you want. However, I would go less than 10 Hz. 1?
