AV inputs be assigned for other things?

Hi,

I have the following doubts, (using a subaru my99pnp ecu on ej20 with modern quad cam control, wiring modified to suit quad cam control ofcourse)

I want to reassign two(two cam ctrl) or maybe four (quad cam ctrl) digital inputs that are currently being used for gear cut, dual rpm, log enable and speed measure to any available AV inputs
OR reassign ATfunctions to AVinputs to free ATinputs which sounds better since speed measure will probably wont be possible in the AVs
that way I can assign the free digital OR AT inputs for quad cam control on an ej20.

First off, how do I know if quad cam control is enabled within my options? Maybe I have to get a password to enable.

Current AT inputs are being used in the following way:
AT1=IAT
AT2=ECT
AT3=(cant use for some reason it is 12v constant in this pnp model ecu)
AT4=ORB select
AT5=Scrambleboost(timer1)
AT6=Boost trim.

AV inputs are currently being used in the following way:
AV1=tps(cant use)
AV2=map(cant use)
AV3=MAF(could use)
AV4=BAP (barometric pressure, not sure if this sensor is internal, if not it could be used?)
AV5=(could be used)
AV6=(could be used)

I have 4 Auxoutputs available to drive the cam solenoids...

Is this possible? How has anyone out there wired/assigned quad cam control inputs/outputs?

The adaptor boards are designed for a specific car so there may be extra circutry on the pins that are relavant for the installation preventing them to be used for other purposes.

A quicker question would be:
Can I assigns AV5 for Dual rpm limiter input for example?

F1 key is your friend.

But as mentioned if PnP you'll need specific info for that unit.

Yeah i have already searched all the f1 info but i cant find an area in the software where i can assign (for example) av5 as Dual rpm limiter

Unfortunately there is no easy way to use an AV input for dual rpm limit, you really need to use a digital input or an AT input so that you can assign the function under Adjust/Digital Input Functions.

If you have no spare AT or dig inputs then you can send the switch on CAN as another option.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Alan! How can I send the switch through CAN?

You could set up the AV input as a User Channel with a custom cal that goes '0' or '1' above and below a voltage like a switch, and use this as an axis in your RPM Limit table. Be careful of hysteresis though.

Cool, and about using another av input for gear cut?
