I'm wondering if the Motec M800 & whatever options & add ons would be required to setup a Paddle shift similar to the geartronics paddle shift system.

I know it can do the Gearcut ect & DBW control for blip ect.

Can someone help with all the parts & setup info required.

Thanks

I think that an M800 is an ECU and the Geartronics sounds like it could be GCU.

Hi,

The M800 has been used with the Geartronics paddle shift many times before as well as other systems. The ECU doesn't need any upgrades except if you have a DBW throttle body on your car which will then require that upgrade for doing the throttle blipping. As you can see in our software there are many settings you can set for different types of paddle shift systems and you can press 'F1' for more information about the function itself in most cases.

As it stands the M800 on its own doesn't offer the level of control that the Geartronics GCU does, Geartonics interfaced with the M800 is however a great solution, gear change strategy isn't as simple as you might first think...

We're a dealer for Geartonics and MoTeC, feel free to drop me a mail.
