M880 defueling after start

Hi - we're having a problem with an M880 mounted on a Ducati 1098R with an SDL. I'm working with a pro tuner, and we've both gotten to the Image level with this problem.

We have the sync/ref mode set to 60 (Ducati special) and the bike starts fine. Right after starting, however, it slowly loses RPM, the lambda readings go lean, and the engine dies after about 5 seconds. It's very much like the fuel is slowly being shut off.

We tested the injectors using the output testing and they seem to work fine. We measured the injector output at 3, 6, 9, and 12 seconds and got proportionally correct fuel volume. We swapped fuel tanks (including pump and filter) off of a running bike, so we eliminated that. We've also swapped batteries and spark plugs and got the same result.

We turned off the lambda feedback and still the same result.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? My friend is sending the ECU to Motec in Calif to get tested, but I thought I'd send out a feeler to see if someone has seen this before.

Thanks!

Never seen this before. A tune file would help a lot. :)

My friend has it on his laptop - I'll see if he can post it.

A log of the injector pulse width and all other related variables during this running period would be the first place to start.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the pulse width modulation looked consient. I'll see if I can get the dump from my friend. Thanks for the responses so far.

If the pulses are right, then perhaps the fuel pressure should be logged next?
