M8xx gearbox control?

Postby rabbitracer on Mon Jan 09, 2012 4:02 pm

Hello, I am considering converting a turbocharged(Speed Force Racing turbo kit) Smart FourTwo (451) to full standalone in place of the piggyback provided in the turbo kit, and was curious if I could also remove the tcu on the automated manual transmission and control clutch engagement/disengagement and shift points/speed with the M800/M880?
The transmission is a Getrag 5AMT130, its not a dual clutch amt, just a single clutch with electronic gear selection and clutch engagement. I'm really hoping I can because the factory tcu shifts the transmission very slowly, its obvious fuel economy was in mind, but it adds about 4 seconds to 1/4th mile times and no way to launch quickly.
Thanks in advance for any replys.

Hello,
Unfortunately we really don't have software specifci to doing this type of gearbox, especially the clutch.
