Firmware downgrade

Postby Mr ganbatte on Tue Jul 19, 2011 3:32 pm

Hi

I recently had my car tuned on firmware 3.52J and after about 6 months I upgraded the firmware to 3.52P
Now the plugs carbon up really easy and it cannot hold a steady idle.
Misfires heaps when backing off after high speed on the track.

Everything else has not changed.

To revert to the old firmware is it just a matter of plugging in to the ECU with ECU manager v 3.52J installed on the laptop rather than the newer version V3.52P? Then it should downgrade the firmware?
I have a backed up copy of the original config file when it was tuned so if it downgrades I will load that file also and see how it runs then.

I am working away and was just after some advice for when I get home.

Cheers

Correct.

Just open the PC with the software version you wish to use, and when you connect to the ecu it will ask if you wish to change firmware version

Sounds a little strange,
You should probably try to find out why the engine was behaving differently I would very much doubt it would be a change to the fueling and ignition caused by an upgrade in software.
