I am having trouble with setting up the Crank and Sync Refs for this engine, i know the crank has 12 equally spaced teeth and the cam has 3 ofset teeth. Both are magnetic, can anyone give me a hand with the settings and possibly timings/ a map?

Thanks

To run this engine you need to use mode 22 which is specifically written to take into account the unusual sync teeth number and layout.

The settings should be:

Ref/Sync Mode = 22
Crank Ref Teeth = 12
Crank Index Position = 431
Ref Sensor Type = 2
Ref Sensor Edge Polarity = 1
Ref Sensor Trigger Voltage = 0.0
Sync Sensor Type = 2
Sync Sensor Edge Polarity = 0
Sync Trigger Voltage = 0.0

You need to check the CRIP and the sensor edges.

Can anyone confirm if these settings will work on an f4i?

Also, is there any documentation on how to set up Mode 22 that I can read?

I have confirmed that these setting do work for the F4i, since i was able to fire up the engine today.

I'll be checking timing with a light tomorrow, but I'm still curious as to how exactly mode 22 works.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
