M800 on F3000 Mugen V8 question

I am drawing up a loom diagram to replace the old Zytek ecu on my Mugen MF-308 F3000 three litre V8 race engine with a Motec M800. On the original Zytek loom diagram two wires go into the fuel injector loom marked "recirc". On close examination of the engine to ECU loom one of these two pins has pushed out into the shell of the MIL connector and probably hasn't been doing anything for years. Probing the two pins for the "recirc" wires in the injector loom itself shows them seemingly connected together somewhere in the loom with nearly zero resistance between them. They would normally go back into the ECU MIL connector via the chassis loom. Does anyone know why they are there and what they are supposed to do? I have checked and neither goes to any of the 8 injector plugs. Car is Lola T91/50 of 1991 vintage. Thanks.

Sounds like it was possibly for a recirc diode.
