Odd Fire V6 setup

Postby 95wagon on Mon Jul 05, 2010 3:34 am

Hello, starting with a clean sheet of paper on an odd fire ( 90-150-90-150-90-150 spacing) EFI what is the optimum way to signal the ECU ?
Crank trigger with the 6 correctly spaced flying magnets? ( plus a cam sync)
"chopper wheel" ? but how many teeth? And how does one space multiple teeth with the odd fire set up.
Or do I just run 6 teeth on the wheel?
Can the signal be taken from the old MSD mag pick up distributor?

Am I correct in assuming the timing of the pick up is slightly more advance that the engine will ever see ?
As in if I never run more than 40 , the pick up just needs to be phased at more than 40?
Cam sync, is its timing critical or not ?

Sorry for all the newbie questions, just trying to get a plan in place as we are acquiring one car running Motec and when converting the V6 odd fire it just makes sense to use the M600 also.
Thanks for any help or direction.
