M800 Hour Counter

Hi everyone,

We are experiencing a problem with the M800 hour counter. We have 3 cars running the brazilian endurance championship and we have lost control of the rebuild time of this 3 engines. The counters stopped at around 13h30min running time, while the cars raced a 12h race and a 3 hour one afterwards. Not only the races are longer than the time shown, but also there are lots of hours of practice.

Software being used is 3.52 on all ECUs that are not working. We have another car running with 3.32 software and that one has the hour counter working perfectly. I don't know if this is a coincidence of if it's a software bug from 3.52.

Is this a known issue other people are having too? I've searched the forums for similar posts and couldn't find any.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Igor,
I tested this last night for more than 16 hours on version 3.52 and it seems to work fine. You have to be a bit carefull how you look at the engine logs becasue the memory is only written under certain circumstances. I have attached a document that explains how it works. I do believe there were some changes between some version and it may have been after v3.3. Sorry for the delay.

Hi Mark,

could you please tell us what is the saving method in the latest firmware release?

Also, where is this engine log stored? Will this consume memory from "normal logged data"?

Thank you,
Peter

Hi Peter,
The save function for this part ofd the software has not changed, kind of why I'm not sure why Igor is having a problem. The document attached above is correct and I rescently tested it on v3.5 for more than 14 hours and it worked as expected.

The engine log will not affect the normal logging. The engine log is pretty simple, it just has to remember some pretty small accumulated values not everything that has happened in chronological order.
