Hi All:
I´m doing a Peugeot 206 XS with Multiplexed CAN OEM Dashboard, could be possible doing a custom data send to send the rpm and ET information to the OEM Dash? I´m trying to found the peugeot´s CAN protocol.
Regards
Alejandro

Hello Alejandro,
Unfortunately this will not work. The custom data set on an M800 allows the user to select the transmitted channels but the CAN address for each channel is not configurable and is unlikely to be the same as required.

but what are you doing with the Subrau 10 multiplexed dash? I saw the M800 configuration and had a lot of parameters in the custom data sets..... I will try to get the information from the factory CAN data....

I do not think that it could work. Motec CAN has the transfer rate of 1Mbaud, whereas most cars have engine CAN with 500 Kbaud - and you can't have two different baud rates on a single CAN line. The solution is a CAN gateway - I have just designed & constructed one for Porsche 996. Unfortunately I have no data on Peugeot CAN.

The other issue.

Is it really CAN or it is one of the 2 more likely diagnostic protocols (ISO14230, ISO9141) with CAN as an addition? :)

If it is CAN how many L/H-line does it have? One or two? Lots of gaps to fill to get to the bottom of this :)

HI Guys
Just some side info for you on this subject.
Yes our normal baud rate is 1 MB however you can set up an M800 to communicate on 500kb so that it may communicate on the Factory vehicles CAN Bus
There is a new setting in ECU Manager under
Tools;
Options;
Communications;
CAN data rate;

Here you can specifi for the laptop to talk to the ECU at 1Mb or 500kb
The reason I mention this is that if you plug into the latest Subaru for example, that has one of our Plug in ECU's, it is likely your laptop wont connect. You will need to go and change the setting in ECU Manager to 500kb.
We have some CAN templates in the software that are sending messages to the Factory dash at 500kb

Hi Pete

This is not part of v3.4.1.23 as I am looking at that screen right now. Perhaps a new version that is in test?

Doh, :)
You are right,
I have had a version of this for so long now I had assumed it was release.
Sorry
The one you will likely see is version 3.5, it has just gone beta so it should be out soon.
Keep an eye out as its got lots of extra stuff in it.
:)

Regards
