M800 Injector Output Options

Mr John Mihovetz with his twin turbo ford modular motor, is using a MoTec ECU. Which model, im not sure, but i gather it is either an M800 or 880.

My question is then how is he using 16 injectors? I cant seem to find any sort of literature regarding this ability. Also if this can be done, can the injectors be staged?

Price aside many tuners in the door-car drag racing community turn to Big Stuff 3 and FAST because, price aside, because they cater well to the use of 8, 16, and even 24 injectors. And like them, this is really the only thing keeping from a MoTe.

easy

they are all high impendance.

8 cylinders x 2injector per channel.. tada!

and with 2000cc/min injectors worth a damn (Injector Dynamic ID2000), talking 4kcc/min per cylinder.

So yes it can run 16 but no it wont run 16 low impedance.

AND in that case it cant run them staged. Bummer.

Each injector output will run multiple low impedance injectors as long as the maximum injector current is not exceded which is 8 amps for positive injector setup numbers and 10 amps for negative injector setup numbers.

I have used 16 injectors on a V8 with 8 throttle bodies, 8 high(above the butterfly) and 8 low (below the butterfly). Instead of using sequential injection, I used semi -sequential?, with 4 injector outputs driving the 8 low injectors and 4 injector output driving the High injectors. The low outputs were paired to cylinders one firing on time the other early, the high injector were paired the same so on each cylinder their was one injector firing on time and one firing early. I then used the individual cylinder trim tables ( high injectors all had the same table and low injector all had the same table) to control the fuel between the high and low injectors, at idle the high injectors were off and at full throttle I had 60% from the high and 40% from the low.

You could also run Two M800/880 Ecu's one being Master, one being a slave info shared on can bus giving you a sequential 16 cylinder. :D
