Only you know exactly what it is you want to do, seems like you want to keep it quiet, that's cool, just experiment. If 1 Hz isn't a low enough frequency, if it absolutely needs to run for XX seconds, off for XX seconds, you will probably have to activate Timer1 or Timer2. Look at the TImer status flag activation list and see if what you need to trigger the timer is in there, otherwise you'll need to activate via an AT.
