Wiring question for VQ35DE in Offroad Racecar

Postby rivmasta on Sat Feb 04, 2012 5:15 pm

Hi all, noob here.

Im wiring up a M800 to a VQ35DE for an offroad buggy. All pretty straight forward - just a couple of quick confirmations would be helpful:

1 - REF is the CAS half plugged in the sump, SYNC is at the back of the cam on bank 1.
2 - Sensor on back of CAM 2 is sensor used for cam position.
3 - Ive set it up so that Inj 7 and 8 run cam position function. anyone see an issue with that?
4 - any specific pitfalls related to VQ35 I should know about?

Cheers, any assistance appreciated.

The Ref sensor is the one down near the back of the block. Are you using a standard flywheel or a light aftermarket one, it will make a big difference to the way it is wired and set up.

Using the injecotr outputs for cam control will alter the setup of the PID control of the cam. If you have a start up file that is using Aux outputs 5, 6, 7 or 8 this is more correct and you should wire it the same way as your start file.

No pitfalls but it really depends on how much you know about cam control and tuning an engine that has it. :)

I'd say it is oil pressure sensor. Very similar connector than on cam sensors.

sorry PQatPIT for asking in your thread.

is it possible to elaborate more, what will be the difference in wiring method & Setup if using a light flywheel.
