ECU Comms problem

Postby Fast_Moto on Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:27 am

I finally finished wiring my project. However, the ECU manager is unable to read the ECU. There is another wrinkle that may (or may not) have something to do with it. The 8V outputs output only 2.9V (8V AUX and 8V ENG). However, the power inputs into the ECU are all 12.4V. Also, I am able to read and write to the DBW4 using the same can bus without a problem. Any suggestions? I am in a bit of a bind as I am supposed to take the bike out next Tuesday and I need to finish the ECU set-up this weekend. So, thanks in advance for any help.

I should add that the Computer sees the UTC without a problem.

Sounds like you have the 8v wire shorted somewhere. Is there 8v to the UTC connector? you could remove it as the UTC is power from the USB bus and not the ECU`s 8v

Some things you can check..

Pin5 on Neutrik connector = Pin B23 on Mx00
Pin4 on Neutrik connector = Pin B24 on Mx00
(see that you dont have them swopped around)

100Ohm terminating resistor

What bus speed is your ECU manager set to talk at?

Also make sure that ECU manger is set to try the USB connection to talk to the Mx00

Make sure just ECU manager is open.
