The ECU can control a single cylinder four stroke provided that it has the correct sensors for ref and sync, what sensors and trigger are fitted to the engine.

Hi aladidi!

We are using the Motec M800 on our 450cc 4-Stroke 1 cylinder Rotax engine without any problems. In the past couple of years we used it on Rotax 650cc engines also from rotax (built for bmw) and there were also no problems. if you need some help with the settings just ask.
like RossB said, make sure you have set up the sensors for ref(crankshaft) and sync(camshaft) correctly.

greets
