Evo 9 Secondary Air Bypass System (OEM Anti-Lag)

Postby jasonthai on Tue Jul 29, 2008 2:47 pm

Hi

I have a M800 OEM (version 89 adaptor with 3 connectors) for an Evo 9 JDM which means that I have all the hardware for the Secondary Air Bypass System (SABS).

As I understand it, the SABS allows boost pressure from the intake piping to leak into the exhaust manifold between gear shifts, thereby acting as an anti-lag system - without the harmful bang-bang :D

I have INJ5 and IGN7 set up as STATUS but I can't figure out how to control it. I know it is linked to the Motec ORB table 2 but I can't figure out the setup.

Can I set it up to just open the SAS solenoid, like in the OEM application?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Jason

Hi Jason,
You will need to set the parameters for INJ7, the following:
Selection 31
Logic Polarity 0
Output Mode 0
Flash 0
Flash Rate 0
This will open the by-pass valve when ORB is active.

IGN5 drives the Intercooler spray lamp to show which ORM mode is selected.
