Aux Table Configuration for Variable Frequency

Discussion and support for MoTeC's previous generation ECUs.

Aux Table Configuration for Variable Frequency

Postby Martin on Wed Apr 29, 2009 8:44 pm

Hi,

Motec, would it be possible to have the choice of varying Frequency at a fixed duty cycle on an Aux Table?
I would like to use this for driving a Stepper Boost gauge and also an OEM Speed gauge.

Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin,
This has been a request for quite some time now but no answer as yet from the software guys. I will prompt them again. :)

I had the same request.
I used an aux PWM table and an external small microcontroller. It reads the PWM from the M800, and generate the right freqency with its internal timers, to drive the Marelli Dash. Good results. But should be better if this could be replaced by a simple wire

Martin, another simpler solution is to generate a variable voltage filtering a PWM. This voltage drives then a LM331 (voltage to frequencer converter, http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM231.pdf) which generate the right frequency.
