M400 simple rate of acceleration control

Postby dgowland on Mon Feb 16, 2009 11:03 am

Just looking for a bit of direction for a simple rate of acceleration control . This will be on a motorcycle in drag racing . ECU is a M400 , motor is turbo charged @ roughly 500hp . TC is not legal for the class but a simpler RPM based rate of acceleration without wheel sensors is OK . Would a RPM / Rpm ROA table retarding ignition be acceptable ? I'm fairly new to the M400 .... just need a nudge in the right direction . Any opinions would be greatly appreciated .

Hello

Use an Aim Slip table, RPM / GEAR, and fill in the limit RPM rate of change. You find the right values by logging RMP rate of change, gear and RMP at some races.

I also put in an Aim Slip Comp 1 table. I use TP as input. If you set 100% TP to +10, 90% to 0, 80% to -10 and so on, you can give some extra on a day with good grip an reduce the RMP rate of change on a day with less grip.
Set the gear detection up with voltage.
You can also control the turbo pressure with the gears, having less power at first gear and max power a sixth gear.

Good luck.

TC mode 4 RPM ROC should do just what you need.

Just add a comp table for gear.

Thank you for the input . I seen TC mode 4 but I was concerned about tech seeing TC active . I will have to look at the logs I have and do some figuring . I haven't made many passes yet . I appreciate the help , I'm still on the bottom of the learning curve ... having fun learning though :)
