Ls1/L76 crank chopper wheel

Hi all

Just a quick question with the l76 chopper wheel do you use the mode 17 for this?
I am sure its 60teath missing 2.The cam will be the same ls1 one.

The L76 has a uses lumps on the timing sprocket to trigger the cam sensor when the LS1 Uses a ridge on the back of the cam, i would have thought they are a differnent type/size of pulse.

LS1 uses the special wiring and mode 23. Ref goes to REF and SYNC inputs. Sync goes to Dig1

I dont know the L76, but the LS7 uses normal wiring and Mode 17.
Crank Ref teeth = 60
Crip 440

Well the L76 crank just has a std chopper wheel that has 58theath and looks to be two missing.I will get a picture of it later on.

Whats the deal with the LS1 Ref Signal going to both the Ref and Sync in the M800?

If you intend to run mode 23 then you need to wire as such

Has it got something to do with the dumb chopper wheel the ls1 runs.

Hi,
Some ref/sync modes require a special way of reading the ref signal so you will find a few cars need the ref sensor wired to both the ref and sync inputs and the sync sensor wired to the digital 1 input. Yes, it is to do with the dumb chopper discs.

The L76 uses a normal chopper wheel it has 58 teeth with missing two.

The L76 is simply mode 17, 60-2 on the crank and 4 on the cam (two long, two short), its been around for many years.....even on the new Maserati V8's.
