Capturing nothing, no voltage readings sporadically

Postby Motorhead on Fri May 13, 2016 10:21 am

Hi guys,

Today I had some SYNC errors with my M400. When I had a closer look to the ref capture, I noticed that somtimes when the ref voltage falls to 0 volts the capturing doesn't continue until the rising edge occurs. It seems like the M400 is basically reading nothing. Even if I place the cursor to that spot the voltage readings in the upper right corner dissapear.

I think that causes the SYNC errors, because the signal needs to stay at 0 volts to pass the filter.
I changed the setup to rising edge and 3 volts trigger voltage and it worked much better but not perfectly.
The sensor signal messured with a scope looks perfectly fine. On a scope I have a nice square wave signal.

When i disconnect the sensor and put the ref input directly to ground, i still get these missing spots. Please have a look to some screen shots. I reckon the triangle shape is the result of the low possible sample rate of the capturing function.

Setup:
- 36-1 crank trigger wheel, hall sensor (sink)
- cam sensor hall (sink 2k2 pullup)
- triggering falling edge on both
- mode 5

This setup worked out pretty well for some time.

Thanks!
