m400,adl AT input for tps

Postby cra5hdown on Thu Jan 14, 2016 9:51 am

hi, can i hook up a tps sensor to the analog temp input on the adl or m400 ecu. i would actually be splicing the tps signal wire to the ecu into the adl. also the ecu will not be the m400 but a yamaha yec ecu. can i use that input or does it have to be a AV input

No. The pullup resistor on the temp input will interfere with the calibration of the other device. If you were just connecting a potentiometer-type TPS sensor to a temp input, you could just connect two of the wires and it would likely be usable (depends on the resistance range of the TPS potentiometer.

An AV Input is more suitable for sharing a sensor as it's high impedance would be unlikely to affect the other device.
