Pit Beacon

Hi. I recently bought a Yamaha R6 with motec 800 ECU and dash. The bike is fitted with a laptiming beacon. My question is does this beacon activate from the pit wall beacons fitted to most European racetracs or do I need to buy the Motec tracksidebeacon? Can I change the settings to make it work as on a recent trip to Aragon I couldn't get the lap timer to work at all?

If it is the Motec Beacon Receiver, then you will need a Motec Beacon.
