Communicating to M400 via CAN

Postby svendsenk on Fri Mar 01, 2013 7:43 am

Hi,

I am looking to create a data logger using the STM32F407VGT6 Multimedia Board. I have a couple of questions about communicating with the M400.

First is what do I need to set using the ECU Manager.

Next is it possible to change parameters on the ECU such as traction control, and launch control.

Is there a sheet that contains all the message ids and their corresponding meaning.

For hardware connections do I just plug the H and L lines in directly? Do I need any other lines connected. Note my micro will be on battery power so im not sharing power or ground.

Finally has anyone done this with a pic or something else and would mind sending me both their code and circuit diagram.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,
You probably should start from watching our CAN related webinars here http://www.motec.com.au/webinars/webinararchive/ they can give you a basic idea about CAN in general and how we use it at MoTeC.
CAN communications in ECU can be configured in the ECU Manager under
Adjust|General Setup|Communications|CAN Setup menu
