Am I correct ins stating the Sync Rel Pos should be as close to 50% as possible?

What is the acceptable limits for Sync Rel Pos?

Many Thanks

Hi,

Ideally, yes, the sync relative position should be closer to 50%, as this gives you the largest amount of leeway in the mechanical play inside the engine. However it isn't overly critical with how close, with anywhere inbetween 25% and 75% fine depending on the amount of play in the engine, viewable by logging the value in the ECU.

As long as it doesn't get anywhere close to 0% or 100% or is possible to fluctuate over these values, ie. from 100% to 0% on the next crankshaft tooth, it should work fine, as all the fueling and ignition timing based on the index tooth.
