YOu dont need the lambda upgrade if you have a PLM

Have a look in the M4 manual to see how to wire it up.

Quick Lambda will work without Advanced Functions.

I'm thinking of utilising the quicktune option.
What is required exactly?

Which is the recommended option?
How effective is it?

since the original post i have tested PLM and M4-M48 many times and it wokes likes charm.
it is good for me to fine tune a fuel map.

notice that only when you press Q the quicktune performes.
