M48 ECU Low Vs High Impedance Injectors

Postby tubbyformy on Tue May 24, 2022 11:53 pm

Hey Everyone, have been searching around for an answer to this regarding injector compatibility with an older M48 ECU. The car was built in the early 2000's and used bosch 64lb low impedance injectors. I want to switch it to 64lb high impedance injectors. Is there anything i will have to change in the M48 for this? I have the software to modify the tune but i have to have the tune file updated from 6.1 to 6.2 before i can make changes, and am trying to find a tuner that still has the Motec update tool, which is proving difficult.

Hi,

The Injector Current and the Injector Battery Comp parameters will need to be updated to suit the change in injector. You will also need to validate the fuelling on the dyno as the injectors may have differences in their flow characteristics, even though they have the same nominal flow rate.
