Discussion and support for MoTeC's earlier generation ECUs

File conversions

Postby Begbie on Tue Dec 02, 2008 11:29 pm

I have been given a full map to use on my MoTeC M48 Pro to get my car started, but when trying to load the map onto the ECU, it seems that the file was written on the newer 6.2 version where as my ECU is 6.1.

Is there anyway to convert the file to be compatible with my MoTeC, or do i need to upgrade the ECU to 6.2 version?

There is no path for downgrading files, your only options are to get your ECU upgraded or to save all of the tables to CSV, copy them in to V6.1 and create a new configuration.

I thought that might have been the only way, shame!

How much does it cost to upgrade the ecu to the latest version?

5 minutes...

And do not forget to disconnect ignition coils before upgrade.

On an M48 you need to use an SUU (Software Update Unit). You may have to contact a dealer to get this done, it only takes a few minutes to do but you need the SUU to do it.

Cheers for the info chaps. I'm just going to stick with 6.1 and manually copy the data across.
