5 bar map setup

ok ive just purchased the 5 bar unit from motec (53006) , now wondering how to set up the tables correctly .
1 , sensor calibration .. is that found in my "sensor setup" box , and if so i just set it to -1
2 , now it gets tricky :P , 0 pressure AD value ? , does that mean i go to the "sensor cal tables" and go into "manifold pressure" , and if correct the very first box (0) i enter the value 103 and then "interpolate horizontal row "
the ECU then makes its own numbers for all of the remaining boxes .

Is this correct and am i missing something

What is the *pressure AD value mean (500/895) , and where do i set it if need be in my M2R , as i cant find anything relevant in my setup tables to enter the numbers ?

thanks brad

Hi Beefcake,
You enter the 103A/D value under 0Kpa and 895A/D under the 500Kpa table site (all the way at the end). If you interploate the ECU will fill in the numbers linearly between the first (0Kpa) and last (500Kpa) sites in the table. That's all you need to do. So enter both end values first before interpolating.

A/D: this is a computer way of looking at voltage. If you want to know a voltage from A/D counts it goes liek this. The inputs into the ECUs are 10 bit resolution meaning the 0-5v sinal is divided into 1024 steps (2 to the power 10). So 895 A/D's is (895/1024)x5v = 4.37v.

thanks a lot for taking the time to reply , i can imagine the pile of requests you would have from us types

So i could assume i have my point 1 correct, and all i have to do now is re do my A/d value interpol, It makes sense now you explain it that way, and looking at your data sheet i got with it .

Also my extra question , does my load sites table need to be put @ 500 in general setup menu to suit the 500kpa map sensor :)

so for a gm style 4 bar sensor the same applies (instead of 500 it'd be 400)... and where do i check the load table that you speak about??

the load table (actually called "load sites selection" ) setting is in your "general setup" section , you can then set it from there :)

so another question...if i was using a 3 bar sensor... and changed to a 4 bar....would all the map change?

The map will not change unless you change it.

It will remain mapped exactly as it was before. Anything over 3 bar ( absolute )you will need to create and tune
