M48 Fuel pump relay feed

Postby fitzsi on Sun Jul 17, 2011 2:52 pm

Can anyone confirm that wire 36 powers up the relay coil feed from the ECU.
If so does the ECU need to have a completed program in the ECU for this wire ( 36 ) to become powered and engage the relay.Just want to make sure everything is operational before I take it to the Motec service agent.

Thanks

Pin 36 is Auxiliary output 4. All outputs are switches to ground so the relay needs to have pin 86 connected to 12v for the same supply as the ECU and pin 85 goes to the ECU pin 36. Auxiliary 4 needs to be set as fuel pump and you can set a delay (seconds).

ith this set up the ECU will activate Aux 4 for the delay time as soon as the ECU is powered and then turn it off, it will then wait for the RPM to start and activate the pump while the RPM is going. The basic idea is to prime the fuel system for a couple of seconds when the ECU power is turned on and then off and wait till the engine starts.
